Student assistant (60 hours per month)

Your responsibility

Supporting activities under supervision in the “Emmy Noether Part 2” project in the field of multi-robot systems including the following tasks:

  • Support with programming in Python, C++ and ROS 2 within our open-source research testbed for flying robot swarms (60%)
  • Support in the execution of flight experiments with flying robot teams (20%)
  • Support with embedded programming in Rust and C for the firmware of the robots (10%)
  • Support with validation of new planning and control algorithms for collaborative flying robot teams (10%)

Your profile

Mandatory criteria:

  1. Very good programming skills in Rust, Python, or C++
  2. Good mathematical foundation in linear algebra and calculus
  3. Good written and spoken English skills

Optional criteria:

  1. Basic knowledge of artificial intelligence or machine learning
  2. Basic knowledge of control engineering or robotics
  3. Experience with modelling and control of flying robots
  4. Experience with embedded systems (Arduino or STM32)
  5. Experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS 2)
