Your responsibility
Support in the collection, analysis, and evaluation of research data.
The Hermann-Rietschel-Institute conducts research on innovative approaches in the field of energy systems in buildings and districts, as well as on human comfort and health. Our research topics include:
- Indoor air quality in healthcare settings
- Development of digital twins for heat supply systems
- AI-based optimization of energy and comfort strategies
- Adaptation of energy systems to fluctuating availability and temperature levels
- Development of control strategies for efficient operation management
We are looking for your support in:
- Conducting data collection according to predefined scientific methods
- Processing, documenting, and systematically evaluating datasets using appropriate software
- Applying and adapting existing models and methods based on specified requirements
- Carrying out practice-oriented research on technical developments, standards, and scientific publications
- Creating technical analyses and visualizations to support research activities

Your profile
- Successfully completed university degree (Bachelor or University of Applied Sciences diploma) in the field of energy and process technology
- Experience with data processing and simulation software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R, COMSOL, etc.)
- Knowledge of scientific work and research methods
- Familiarity with technical standards and norms in the relevant field
- Motivation and initiative is desirable
- Team and organizational skills is desirable
- Very good German and/or English skills, both written and spoken; willingness to learn the other language if necessary
Desirable:
- Good knowledge of buildings and systems in the field of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)
- Solid programming skills (ideally in Python)
- Very good computer skills (hardware and software)
- Flexibility and interest in new challenges
