The international Research Training Group 2544 (Graduiertenkolleg) on "Stochastic Analysis in Interaction” is looking for a third cohort of motivated PhD students in the vibrant field of Stochastic Analysis. The research training group is a collaborative venture of TU Berlin, HU Berlin, FU Berlin and WIAS in collaboration with the University of Oxford, UK. The position(s) will be filled at one of the mentioned institutions.

Aufgabenbeschreibung

Our PhD projects in stochastic analysis span from fundamental mathematical questions to
applications in Stochastics, such as Mathematical Finance, Natural Sciences or Statistics and Machine
Learning.

Erwartete Qualifikationen

  • successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Mathematics or closely related disciplines
  • strong knowledge of stochastic analysis
  • good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills

Desirable:

  • eagerness to engage in exchange with Oxford partners, also during a six-month research visit in Oxford

We offer:

  • supervision by leading experts in many fields of stochastic analysis from Berlin and Oxford
  • integration into a large and diverse community in stochastic analysis in Berlin, and into the Oxford partner program, the Centre for Doctoral Training "Mathematics of Random Systems"
  • six-month research visit at the University of Oxford
