Organisational Overview -

We are a boutique commercial investigations company based in Geneva, Switzerland. We investigate financial crime, including money laundering, fraud, sanctions violations and corruption. We work for senior decision makers conducting intelligence led investigations. Increasingly, we carry out metadata analysis to identify tradecraft signatures and other indications of nefarious activity. We gather pertinent facts and offer analysis and advice to our clients. Data Scientist

Data science role in a globally-operating commercial intelligence firm.

Tasks

The skills we value in Data Scientist candidates are:

  • Writing algorithms – ability to write algorithms to identify networks, trends, anomalies & predictions incl.

  • Recursive algorithms

  • Divide and conquer algorithms

  • Graph algorithms

  • Centrality algorithms

  • Pathfinding algorithms

  • Supervised & unsupervised machine learning algorithms

  • Data parsing – experience in wrangling structured and unstructured multi-source data, ability to communicate data to non-technical stakeholders

  • Programming and technical proficiency – Python, Pandas, SQL, R, machine learning, local AI systems, NLP, digital forensics, cyber security

  • Hypothesis-led investigation – experience in testing the probability of hypotheses and leveraging data-mining skills to recognise patterns / draw sound conclusions

  • Discerning analysis – a critical eye to identify broken imports, missing values, LLM errors, graph theory, network analysis

  • Tactical empathy to understand the motivations of bad actors, intelligence sources and clients alike

  • Active listening and a collaborative mindset are essential for brain-storming with an open dialogue

  • High standard and literacy to communicate the relevant intelligence concisely

  • Unique knowledge bases or skillsets bring a new way of thinking to the team

  • Adaptability as each project could ask you step into a new role and / or travel abroad

  • Fluent English is required for all roles

  • Knowledge of other languages is highly desirable
