Your responsibility
We are looking for a research assistant conditionally to the approval of the research proposal to carry out a research project on the topic of 3D-printing of vault shaped ceilings made of clay, who will work closely with the other research participants on the following tasks, among others:
- Development and optimisation of clay mixtures for use in 3D printing
- Derivation of a numerical material model of clay mixtures
- FEM modelling of the cap ceiling elements, taking into account the support situation and internal structure of the elements
- Validation and, if necessary, adaptation of the material model and the FEM modelling through tests
- Optimisation of the geometry of the cap elements
Your profile
- Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in the field of civil engineering
- In-depth knowledge of structural engineering
- Very good understanding of load transfer in structures
- Very good knowledge of German required
- Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration with architects desirable
- Ability to develop load-bearing concepts and think conceptually desirable
