Research Assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Your responsibility

We are looking for a research assistant conditionally to the approval of the research proposal to carry out a research project on the topic of 3D-printing of vault shaped ceilings made of clay, who will work closely with the other research participants on the following tasks, among others:

  • Development and optimisation of clay mixtures for use in 3D printing
  • Derivation of a numerical material model of clay mixtures
  • FEM modelling of the cap ceiling elements, taking into account the support situation and internal structure of the elements
  • Validation and, if necessary, adaptation of the material model and the FEM modelling through tests
  • Optimisation of the geometry of the cap elements

Your profile

  • Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in the field of civil engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of structural engineering
  • Very good understanding of load transfer in structures
  • Very good knowledge of German required
  • Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration with architects desirable
  • Ability to develop load-bearing concepts and think conceptually desirable
