Tasks

  • Independent research in the field of industrial organization and organizational economics, with a focus on economic problems of knowledge transfer and methods of microeconomics/game theory/behavioral economics, including economic online and laboratory experiments on relevant topics within the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) "Rationality and Competition" (Subproject A04)
  • Contribution to the preparation of studies for high-ranking, peer-reviewed academic journals on relevant topics within Subproject A04: "Decision Impairments in Markets"
  • Engagement in the „Research Associates Program“ of the „Berlin School of Economics“ is welcome and supported (https://berlinschoolofeconomics.de/)

Requirements

  • successfully completed university degree (Diploma, Master or equivalent) in Economics or equivalent courses of study
  • completed above-average dissertation in the field of behavioral, industrial, or organizational economics
  • independent research output that has been published or accepted for publication in leading international academic journals
  • excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience in experimental methods (including both lab and online experiments on individual and strategic behavior) as well as in conducting representative surveys
  • International network, demonstrated by academic work abroad and participation in international conferences and workshops
  • Relevant experience in collaborative research within a project environment and strong motivation to engage in such settings
  • in-depth knowledge of experimental and survey programming languages and software such as z-Tree, oTree
  • proficiency in statistical software such as STATA, MATLAB, R, and/or Python
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills.

Desirable:

  • Excellent academic writing and communication skills
  • high level of independence and commitment
