Tasks
Context:
Participation in the DFG funded project ‘The robotic backbone of robotized construction (FOR5672) with the goal to develop digital solutions to support planning and simulating robotic construction work. You will support the research and innovation activities conducted by the TU Berlin.
Work Tasks:
In particular, we expect the candidate to support research into robotic simulation and the development of simulation environments of robotic construction sites in the robot simulation software Gazebo.
- Modeling of Construction Sites in Gazebo (50%)
- Support of Simulation Experiments coupling discrete event simulations with the Gazebo environment (25%)
- Representation of the experimental results for scientific publications (25%)
Requirements
- excellent English language skills
- software development skills
Additionally, candidates with one or more of the following skills will be preferred during the selection process of the candidate:
- software development skills in the areas of Building Information Modeling and Digital Building Twins
- knowledge in Python development, if possible with the simpy package
- skills and background in robotic simulation, ideally with using Gazebo or a similar platform
