Tasks

The candidate will explore novel image processing-based algorithms that combine model-based and machine learning methods for robot perception (SLAM, 3D reconstruction, motion estimation, resampling of signals, etc.) with event cameras. The work combines the disciplines of robotics, perception and optimization. Teaching duties are performed.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or egivalent) and PhD degree in Computer
    Science or related engineering field with excellent results
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in computer vision, machine learning, state estimation and event
    cameras.
  • Publications in high-level conferences on event cameras (such as ECCV, ICCV, CVPR) and JCR-Q1 journals (IEEE T-Robotics, IEEE T-PAMI).
  • Programming experience with C++ and Python. Knowledge of the deep learning framework
    PyTorch, the robot operating system ROS, and experience in event camera data
    acquisition.
  • The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the missing language skills
