Research Associate (m/f/x) in Philosophy of Science / Philosophy of Physics

At the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science, Institute of Philosophy, the Junior Professorship in Philosophy of Science (Jun.-Prof. Enno Fischer) offers a position as

Research Associate (m/f/x)
in Philosophy of Science / Philosophy of Physics
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting at the earliest possible date. The position is limited to 3 years as part of the DFG project “Progress through Principles: An Epistemology of Foundational Assumptions Guiding Contemporary Physics”. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position comprises 65% of the
full-time weekly hours. The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (usually PhD).
The Project examines theheuristic role of guiding principles in foundational

Tasks

  • academic collaboration in the mentioned research project
  • project coordination and support for project management
  • independent research in philosophy of science and philosophy of physics in the mentioned field of study

Requirements

  • completed university degree (M.A./M.Sc. level) in philosophy or physics
  • proficiency in English or German
  • teamwork, communication skills, and initiative
  • Interest in interdisciplinary work.
