Student assistants in carbon removal research (m/f/d)
The position is funded for up to 16 months. The remuneration is determined ac-cording to the guidelines of the TdL. The current hourly rate for a student assistant with a Bachelor's degree is 14,59 € (without a Bachelor's degree 13,98 €). We offer 2 to 4 part-time position with a weekly working time of 10 to 20 hours per week. Ap-pointment is conditional on approval by the funding agency.
Tasks
Key responsibilities:
Assist researchers in the project on their analyses of carbon removal and climate mitigation policies, innovation, and public perceptions in particular, this includes:
- support the production of systematic literature maps and reviews through data collection and synthesis
- annotating datasets for the evaluation of machine-learning classifiers
- creating data visualizations for scientific publications
- supporting the writing of publications and reports.
Requirements
You are a Bachelor or Master student, enrolled at a German university, and ide-ally meet the following requirements:
- background in environmental science, geography, economics, computer sci-ence, quantitative social or political science, physics, ecology or related fields
- knowledge of climate research
- ability to solve problems in a scientific context using data
- Strong coding skills for data analysis and visualization (for instance in py-thon) are an asset.
- Previous experience in carbon removal, climate policy assessment, innova-tion studies, evidence synthesis or bibliometrics is an asset
