Participation in a BMBF-funded research project in the field of Li-mediated electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction (Li-NRR) for green ammonia synthesis in gas-diffusion-based flow cell systems. Main focus is on cell design, especially flow field design, and characterization techniques. The goal of this project is to advance the understanding and optimization of Li-NRR processes and contribute to sustainable ammonia production within the green hydrogen value chain.
Your profile
- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) and Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical/Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with electrochemical flow cell design and operation and electrochemical measurement methods
- Demonstrated experience with characterization techniques (XRD, XPS, TEM, SEM, operando techniques desirable)
- Detailed knowledge of electrochemical software and programming languages (Python, Matlab, C++)
- Proven experience in scientific writing and publishing
- Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
- Experience in synthesis of catalytic material is desirable
- Experience in the field of optimising the mechanical properties of electrolysis cells, e.g. pressure and
temperature management is desirable - Experience in supervising students' final theses is desirable
