Tasks
As part of a real-world laboratory, drone deliveries in urban areas are to be tested in two pilot projects in a Berlin neighborhood. Six partners are working on this project to develop safe, fast, and environmentally friendly drone services and validate sustainable business models based on newly acquired data. At the chair of aircraft construction and aerostructures, you will engineer, implement, and provide technical support for a micro-depot, a kind of “packing station with delivery and pickup of packages by drones,” taking into account the requirements and needs of users and project partners. The tasks include the conception, design, and construction of mechatronic systems, project management, and the selection and coordination of suppliers and the institute's workshop.
Requirements
- successfully completed academic university degree (diploma, master's or equivalent) in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable field of study
- in-depth knowledge in the field of lightweight construction and/or mechatronics
- in-depth knowledge and experience in the areas of design, calculation of structural components and/or mechatronic systems
- in-depth knowledge and experience in the areas of design, calculation of structural components and/or mechatronic systems
- knowledge and practical experience in design (CAD, CAE) and manufacturing, e.g., of structural components, devices, or mechatronic systems
- experience in project management
- good knowledge of German and/or Emglish is required; willingness to acquire the missing language skills.
Desirable:
- basic knowledge of the fundamentals, specific working methods, and regulations in aerospace engineering
- ability to work in a team, communication skills, meticulous working style
- desire to qualify and work in the field of engineering
